5. Mary Janes: The Women of Weed
In her film Mary Janes: The Women of Weed, director Windy Borman explores gender parity, social justice, and environmental sustainability in the cannabis industry, highlighting its women leaders.

6. Can You Handle My Randall!?
Try 12 infused Washington beers designed specifically to prompt the question, "What the f*** did you put in my beer? Answers to the question may include candied figs, orange peel, "crazy fruit," or Ethiopian coffee.

7. Tap That!: Ladies in Litres and Lyrics
Altstadt will host "Opera on Tap," an all-female-composed show, as well as four female-brewed beers from Dru Bru, Atwood Ales, Stoup, Two Beers, and Pike Brewing, and German fare from female chef/owner Lex Petras of Altstadt. $1 of every beer or flight purchased will benefit the Pink Boots Society to "support all the badass women in beer."

9. Byrne-thday Party with Little Creatures
New Wave icon, terrific dancer, and all-around prince David Byrne is celebrating another year on Earth. Observe his birthday by grooving to classics from Talking Heads tribute band Little Creatures.

13. David Lindow: The History of the Rose Engine from Kings to Craftsmen
Join David Lindow, the creator of "one of the world’s most versatile turning lathes," as he discusses the history and development of the Rose Engine, which can make flower patterns in wood and metal.

While agricultural production is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, new research suggests that certain food production approaches can contribute to climate change solutions. Join soil scientist Doug Collins, geologist David Montgomery, and farmer Beth Wheat for a discussion of the topic over beers.

17. Holocaust Survivor Carla Peperzak: Lunch-and-Learn
When Nazis invaded her home in Amsterdam, Carla Peperzak's Jewish father was able to provide papers to prove that Carla and her sisters were born of a Catholic mother, saving them from incarceration. Carla joined the Dutch resistance, saving 40 Jews by providing food and shelter and helping to falsify IDs. Hear the Spokane resident's inspiring story in person.

18. Human-Machine Interfaces and the Future of Interaction
Tech experts will discuss how new machines, and the increased role of technology in our society in general, has affected and will affect humans' daily lives.

19. Elysian's 22nd Anniversary
A uniform of "flannels, ripped jeans, and Doc Martens" is encouraged at this '90s throwback event, which will include the release of Loki Lager, original 1996 pint prices of $2.75 all day long, and '90s-themed karaoke, all at Elysian's original Capitol Hill pub.

20. Black Lodge Anniversary Series Kickoff with Hollow Earth Radio

Dr. Devin Naar, a professor of Sephardic studies at UW, will give a lecture on the history of deportation faced by Sephardic Jews in America.

25. Joy Passanante: Through a Long Absence
Based on his letters to his wife, Joy Passanante's Through a Long Absence: Words from My Father's Wars tells the story of a man, the son of Sicilian immigrants, who comes of age as a surgeon during World War II.

26. Observing the Observers: Klara Glosova Casts a Fresh Eye
Local painter Klara Glosova, who was nominated for a Stranger Genius Award, will share her observances of Seattle's local rituals, clothing, and practices that she explores through her paintings.

27. U.S. Military Power in the Pacific: New Challenges, New Opportunities
Lieutenant General Stephen Lanza, who served as commanding general, I Corps at Joint Base Lewis-McChord until he retired last year, will talk about the role the U.S. military plays in maintaining stability in the Pacific region.

32. Feminists of Color Speak Out
Join Sarah Scott for a discussion of two manifestos by women of color: Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's We Should All Be Feminists, and socialist feminist organizer Nancy Reiko Kato's Women of Color: Frontrunners for Freedom.

33. Nordic Nights' Syttende Mai Post-Parade Afterparty
Swing by the museum after Ballard's daytime Syttende Mai festivities to enjoy extended gallery hours, a Norway-inspired fashion show from local Norwegian American designer Madison Leiren, and live music.

At this unofficial Syttende Mai after-party, Video DJ Andy will project Nordic-inspired visuals set to a festive set list, Miss Iona Trailer will give a drag performance, Mister Norwegian Space Needle 2018 will be crowned, and Cash Court (a star on season eight of Norwegian reality show Alt for Nordge) will make a special appearance.

Authors Eva Cherniavsky (Neocitizenship), Shane Burley (Fascism Today: What It Is and How To End It), and Alexander Reid Ross (Against the Fascist Creep), will talk secession—its benefits, its downfalls, and how it's received in various ideologies.

50. Silhouette
Silhouette, an a cappella musical with a cast of 10 women, imagines what happens when an astronaut is rescued by the seemingly primitive inhabitants of a planet, who in fact are capable of magic. When a rescue mission arrives from her home planet, this magic follows her onto the ship and starts causing disturbances in the technologically advanced society.

51. What's Missing
What's Missing by eminent choreographers Beth Corning and Donald Byrd, which debuted in Pittsburgh for a series featuring dancers over 40, will present the same, repeated solos and duets from varied perspectives.

52. 'Tales of the Tropical Gothic' Book Club Art Show
After several months spent discussing Tales of the Tropical Gothic and The Woman Who Had Two Navels by Nick Joaquin, Push/Pull artists Maxx Follis-Goodkind, Vladimir Verano, David Lasky, Seth Goodkind, Dillon Lacey, and John Werner created a fanciful art show.

53. Blanket of Fear
This play by the Tribes Project Alumni Ensemble, first performed two years after 9/11, attacks the paranoid fear that can overtake society and fuel civil rights abuses. A white schoolteacher and her Persian and African American husband are arrested for alleged terrorist conspiracy. An Afro-Cuban public defender takes on her case and is embroiled in the political tangle.

54. Don't Call it A Riot!
In 1968, Reed, a member of Seattle's Black Panther Party, juggles a new marriage and pregnancy, and the antics of her best friend, Marti. All the while, outside forces threaten both the party and her home life.

55. Ghosted
See sustainable clothing designs from second-hand sources by Seattle University's Fashion Club. They bill it as not only a fashion show but also "on society's flaws today, focusing on our forgotten society." This event benefits the Dress for Success professional dress charity.

56. Hard In The Paint: Trap & Paint, Art Show, and Party
Get down and dirty in a two-hour freestyle painting session (complete with art supplies and a glass of wine), or just show up for the art show to see work by live painters and featured artists, dance to live trap DJs, and win raffle prizes.

57. Sight Unseen with Diagraf
This light art show will feature 3D projection, VR, timelapses, GIF art, live digital painting, kinetic and sound responsive, analog, projection mapping, and more, set to ambient noises from DJ Manos.

60. Capitol Hill Series
Join Elysian for a ceremonial tapping of their new release Schwartz the Beer, the third of five special beers to be released in 2018, as well as a toast from Capitol Hill Lead Brewer, Hiawatha Rhyans. KEXP DJ Morgan will host, and the Moondoggies will perform. All proceeds from Schwartz the Beer sold during the event will go to KEXP.

61. Distilled 2018
At this fundraiser for Town Hall, in which the venue will "boil down the essence" of their organization into one concentrated evening, hobnob with bigwigs like Grist CEO Brady Piñero Walkinshaw and executive Greenpeace USA director Annie Leonard. Distillery Sound Spirits will serve libations alongside hors d’oeuvres while guests enjoy games and conversation.

62. Seattle Beer Week: Beets by Dexter Brewhouse
Accompanied by the '90s beats of a DJ, Dexter Brewhouse will release the "Beet Down," a wild ale made with beets and aged in wine barrels, paired with a dish of salt-roasted baby beets, crushed Marcona almonds, orange supremes, smoked yogurt, and sherry-orange vinaigrette from chef Jon Langley.

Daniel Roberts, formerly of the famous Merce Cunningham Dance Company, will lead a troupe in a performance of Night Cloud, co-created with Sangjun Yoo, as well as other pieces.

87. The Magic Flute
Mozart's final opera tells the story of a prince and his lovelorn bird catcher friend who set out to rescue the Queen of the Nights' daughter.
