Solar leads renewable capacity expansion with 345.5 GW added in 2023
Mar 29, 2024 15:25 CESTInfinigen, a renewables platform launched by private equity firm ArcLight Capital Partners LLC, has recently won an off-take contract for a 32-MW solar power plant in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico.
Specifically, the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) awarded a power purchase and offtake agreement (PPOA) to the Yabucoa project on June 30, 2022, as part of an ongoing request for proposals (RFP) process.
ArcLight said in a press statement today that the Yabucoa project is part of Infinigen's development pipeline, which currently includes utility-scale and commercial and industrial (C&I) schemes exceeding 150 MW of total capacity in Puerto Rico.
At the same time, Infigen operates the Oriana I, Oriana II and Horizon plants totalling 73 MW of solar power generation and energy storage capacity. The company is looking to further grow in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean and North America.
