X-Noor to install solar power at John Crane’s Dubai HQ
Mar 20, 2024 16:40 CESTUAE-based solar developer Yellow Door Energy has put into operation a solar photovoltaic (PV) system at the factory of bottled water company Nestle Pure Life in Dubai that will generate 2,400 MWh of clean electricity annually and meet 80% of the facility's energy consumption.
More than 2,500 solar panels have been installed on the roof of a carport for distribution trucks at the factory, Yellow Door Energy, which provides the solar lease, said on Wednesday. The system will cut the production facility's carbon emissions by 1 million kg per year.
The solar developer is responsible for financing, designing, building, commissioning, operating and maintaining the power plant during the lease term.
"This is Yellow Door Energy’s third project with Nestle and our company looks forward to expanding and strengthening this partnership for many years to come," said Yellow Door Energy's founder and chief executive Jeremy Crane.
The project is part of Nestle’s target to source 100% renewable electricity from its sites by 2025 and to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
