Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Two more people filed today as candidates to succeed Ardell Brede as Mayor of Rochester.

Kim Norton and Regina Mustafa joined Charlie O’Connell and Brent Coggins on the ballot. A primary race was also set up for the 1st Ward City Council seat being vacated by Ed Hruska. Kim Sin today joined Heather Holmes and Paul Myhrom by filing for the position. Byron Clark filed as a candidate for City Council in the 5th Ward and joined Mike Walters in pursuing the seat now held by Mark Hickey.

There were 2 other candidate filings today. Geoffrey Hjerleid filed to challenge Olmsted County Attorney Mark Ostrem’s bid for reelection and Rochester Democrat Abdulkadir Dahir Abdalla filed as a candidate for the District 26A seat in the Minnesota House currently held by fellow Democrat Tina Liebling, which is expected to file for re-election tomorrow.
